The study reveals a disconcerting trend: in 80% of observed cases, attackers began targeting enterprise edge devices—such as VPN gateways and firewalls—weeks before relevant vulnerabilities were made public and assigned a Common Vulnerabilities and Exposures (CVE) identifier.
